Wedding Cookbook
For those of you who read this and don’t know me or don’t know me well, I just got married over a couple of week ago (wuhuu I am now Mrs. Wu!). With a Lebanese first name, a Chinese surname, a German passport and living in London, my heritage will almost certainly be less confusing to everyone … But I jest. And digress. We had a beautiful ceremony, in the south of France near Montpellier with the sun shining over everyone and everything. All our closest friends and family were present and we most definitely spent the entire day with massive grins on our faces! And of course, ate a ridiculous amount of food, danced until we thought our feet were about to fall off, slept a maximum of 3 hours and then spent the next 2 days talking about how great everything was.
On this perfect day of our life, we also got the greatest, most thoughtful gift that anyone could have ever given us. Everyone we know knows how much I love to cook (and Jeff, my husband) loves to eat. So my bridesmaids secretly got everyone that was invited to send in a recipe (or two, or three) which they then compiled into a beautiful book. They then gifted it to us on our wedding day. What an amazing gift is that?! I cannot think of anything better! I’ve looked at the whole thing at least three times already.
Now, I’ve decided that to truly honour this very special gift, I am going to cook EVERY SINGLE RECIPE. And of course I am going to share this whole journey with you, and I hope that you will enjoy it as much as me! To give you a flavour of things to come we have recipes from: Lebanon, regional German cuisine, Italy, China, Mexico, Belgium, Iran… as diverse as our friends and family. There is even a recipe submitted from beyond the grave- but you shall have to wait until before Christmas for this special if not slightly spooky feature.
I hope you are as excited as I am about this project and will subscribe and follow me on this journey! I will post at least one of the recipes each week. If you do follow some of these great recipes, please let me know how it went!
